TRAINING FOR LOCAL JOURNALISTS ON GENDER REPORTING IN BATUMI

On September 13-14 2009 training for Adjara-based journalists on “Gender and Gender Reporting” will be held at Intourist Hotel Palace, Batumi, Georgia.

The objective of the initiative is to train Adjara-based media professionals on gender and gender sensitive reporting in order to strengthen capacities of journalists, raise their awareness on the issues of gender equality, domestic violence and women’s rights and promote a new approach to media portrayal of women and man in public life in Georgia.

National Action Plan on Domestic Violence 2009-2010 Elaborated

On January 23-25 a workshop on the elaboration of the National Action Plan on Domestic Violence 2009-2010 was held in the hotel “Villa Vita” in Bakuriani, Georgia. The workshop was a jointly initiative by the UNFPA-implemented “Combating Gender-Based Violence in the South Caucasus” project and the Georgian Young Lawyers Association.
