On July 21st 2010 at 12:00 at the hotel Courtyard by Marriott in Tbilisi, a roundtable on institutionalizing gender-sensitive reporting within media will be held on the joint initiative of the Inter-Agency Council on Domestic Violence and the UNFPA/Georgia.
The roundtable aims at introducing the initiative on mainstreaming gender in the Georgian Public Broadcasters’ Code of Conduct and the Broadcasters’ Code of Conduct and adopting professional standards on covering gender issues to ensure gender sensitive reporting.
Leading media experts, members of the Georgian Public Broadcasters (GPB) Board of Trustees and the National Communications Commission, representatives of the TV/Radio channels, journalists and editors, representatives of NGOs and civil society are invited to participate in the roundtable discussion.
The roundtable is held within the framework of the UNFPA Georgia implemented regional project “Combating Gender-based Violence in the South Caucasus” and aims at institutionalizing gender-sensitive reporting within media in Georgia.
