On May 5, 2011, 13:00, The Parliamentary Council on Gender Equality, State Inter-Agency Council on Domestic Violence and UNFPA/Georgia, conducted a multi-sectoral meeting “Partnership for Combating Gender-Based Violence in Georgia” at the Ilia Chavchavadze Hall, Parliament of Georgia.

On April 28, 2011, 11:00, State Inter-Agency Council on Domestic Violence, supported by the UNFPA/Georgia, conducted a meeting on strengthening healthcare system response to domestic violence.

On April 27, 2011, State Inter-Agency Council on Domestic Violence, supported by the UNFPA/Georgia, conducted a meeting with the representatives of ethnic minorities on domestic violence at the Hotel Courtyard Marriott.

On December 10^th, 2010, UNFPA Georgia marked the International Human Rights Day by conducting the South Caucasus Regional Photo Exhibition on Women’s Rights at the Gallery VernySsage. The exhibition brought together artworks from Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia and was held simultaneously in the three countries of the South Caucasus in adherence to the UN Secretary General’s UNiTE campaign to end violence against women.

On November 25, 2010, 13:00, an official launch of the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence was held at the Sheraton Metekhi Palace Hotel. The Official launch was organised by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in Georgiasupported by the Parliamentary Council on Gender Equality and the State Inter-Agency Council on Domestic Violence.

16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence (November 25 – December 10) is held under the coordination of UNFPA implemented project “Combating Gender-Based Violence in the South Caucasus”, supported by the Gender Equality Council at the Parliament of Georgia and in close collaboration with governmental, international and non-governmental organizations in the field.

On July 21^st 2010 a roundtable on institutionalizing gender-sensitive reporting within media was held on the joint initiative of the Inter-Agency Council on Domestic Violence and the UNFPA/Georgia at the hotel Courtyard Marriott, Tbilisi.

The roundtable aimed at introducing the initiative on mainstreaming gender in the Georgian Public Broadcasters’ Code of Conduct, the Broadcasters’ Code of Conduct and the Journalists’ Ethics Charter and adopting professional standards to ensure gender sensitive reporting.

On December 16^th, 2009 at 16:00 official closing ceremony of the 16 Days of Activism against Gender Based Violence & an exhibition on gender discrimination  was held at the National Parliamentary Library of Georgia (Gudiashvili # 7) hosted by UNFPA/Georgia.

The official launch of the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence was held at the Queen Tamar Hall at the Parliament of Georgia on November 25 2009, organized by UNFPA Georgia implemented project “Combating Gender-Based Violence in the South Caucasus” in cooperation with the Parliamentary Advisory Council on Gender Equality.

On November 25^th, 2009, the official UN observance of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, a Declaration of Commitment to End Violence against Women was signed at the official opening of the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence organized by the Gender Equality Advisory Council under the Chair of the Parliament of Georgia and UNFPA Georgia office.
